BODHI Massage After COVID-19

What will be different when BODHI re-opens?

Due to COVID-19, there will be changes to normal massage procedures. Some of these changes will be temporary, some permanent. 

This is an example of the procedures that will be followed during your visit. They are designed to keep you and I both safe. I ask that you please read through them and ask any questions you may have before arriving for your session. 

Please note, masks are required once you enter the office. No exceptions. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you. If you don’t wish to wear a mask, you will be denied service. 

If you have travelled outside of the state, there is a 7 day waiting period after you’ve returned home before you can come in for an appointment. If you are vaccinated, there is no waiting period required.

Due to the close proximity required for massage services, and due to my high-risk status, a COVID vaccination is required for service at BODHI Massage. It is your right to not disclose your COVID vaccination status. If this the case, I absolutely respect that. However, this means you cannot receive services from BODHI Massage. That is my right as a business owner. Thank you for understanding and I wish you well.

You will be asked to read, initial, and sign a two-page COVID-19 waiver form before your first return appointment. You can download the form here, request it from me via email, or get a physical copy during your visit. To limit your exposure, bring the completed form with you to your session. This form is only required during your initial post-COVID visit, not subsequent visits. 

General Procedures

  • Please do not arrive to your session more than 5 minutes early. If you do, please wait outside unless we’ve previously discussed beginning your session early. There will be no waiting allowed in the lobby area.
  • I will meet you at the door and accompany you to the front desk where I’ll collect your completed COVID-19 waiver and take your temperature with an infrared forehead thermometer.
  • Before going to the treatment room, you will be asked to use the washroom to wash and dry your hands. Once you’ve done so, please refrain from touching your face.
  • Excessive sneezing or coughing will end sessions immediately. Not necessary if vaccinated.
  • During the session, we will both be required to wear face masks.
  • At this time, sessions will be limited to no more than 60 minutes. This limitation will be in place until I feel safe offering longer sessions. Much will depend on WHO and CDC COVID numbers. No longer necessary beginning June 2021.
  • Some clients like to have a conversation during their massage session, but during this time I ask that we keep our conversations to a minimum, to limit the spread of airborne pathogens. 
  • Hot towels will be suspended, for the time being. Hot towel use reinstated, March 1, 2021.
  • Please use hand sanitizer before leaving the room after your session.

Treatment room cleaning (before each client) 

  • More time has been added between sessions to allow for a deeper cleaning of the treatment room between clients.
  • As always, fresh linens will be used for each session. 
  • All hard surfaces in the treatment room—tables, walls, cabinets, water spouts, door handles, light switches—will be cleaned with a CDC approved disinfectant.
  • Flooring will be sanitized with a hospital-grade, cloth-approved disinfectant after being vacuumed with a HEPA filter vacuum.
  • Above CDC requirements, to limit exposure to shared surfaces, disposable exam paper will be placed on table and chair surfaces.
  • Above CDC requirements, a HEPA air purifier is now in the room, and filters the room air 5 times per hour. 


  • For protection during our post-massage time, I’ve added a plexiglass sneeze guard to the front desk.
  • To give an option for interaction-free payment and check-out, regular clients will have the option to be billed for their sessions via Square. I just ask that payment be made within 24 hours. My regular payments options, including contactless options like ApplePay, are still available.
